Message	In order of increasing energy density: Hydrogen, propane/butane, gas, kerosene, diesel, fuel oil. Increasing octane (or equivalent, like cetane): Fuel oil, diesel, kerosene, gas, propane/butane, hydrogen. Avgas is just gasoline, albeit leaded. The most common stuff has about the same energy content & octane rating--lead just alters its knock characteristics. You could put lead back in 87 octane and achieve the same effect.
